Money Marathon — Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Money Marathon is a savings-tracking app for a small group of racers (usually friends) working toward a shared savings goal. This page explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and how it's protected.

Who runs this app

Money Marathon is developed and operated by an independent developer. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact: kyaiko.dev@gmail.com.

What information is collected

To use Money Marathon, no name, email, or phone number is required to sign up — the app signs you in anonymously using Firebase Authentication, which assigns your device a random identifier with no personal information attached.

Within a race you join or create, the following is stored so the app can function:

How the race-sharing model works

A race is joined using a short code. Anyone who has that code can see and edit everything in that race — this is by design, since a race is meant to be a shared, collaborative space for a trusted group of friends. Don't share a race code with anyone you don't want to have that access. There is no way to make part of a race private from other racers who've joined it.

How long data is kept

If a racer's device doesn't interact with the app at all for 90 days, that racer's data is automatically and permanently deleted, and they're warned by an on-device notification before that happens (at 30, 60, and roughly 83 days of inactivity). If every racer in a race becomes inactive, the whole race is deleted the same way. Any racer can also leave a race at any time, which deletes their own data immediately.

Notifications

Money Marathon can send local notifications directly from your device (like savings-day reminders or inactivity warnings). These are scheduled and delivered entirely on-device — they are not sent through a push notification server and don't involve sharing any additional data.

Advertising

Money Marathon shows ads through Google AdMob to keep the app free. This may include:

Google's advertising services may collect and use device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's advertising privacy policy. Money Marathon does not itself receive or store any data collected for ad personalization — that's handled directly between your device and Google.

Third-party services used

Money Marathon does not sell your data, and does not share it with anyone beyond the infrastructure providers listed here and the other racers in your own race.

Children's privacy

Money Marathon is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
